DEPARK – GAMA

Havelsan is an indirectly public but private company that develops technology for the defense industry. The most important reason underlying the need for a new campus is that the qualifications of the workplaces have moved away from humane conditions. Another input is the high level of information security that the company must provide and the security certificates that it must receive after the related structure is completed in order to continue its activities. On a campus located so far inside the city, these inputs have formed the main backbone of the information security design. All service units are positioned within a volume wall at the periphery of the residential fabric. All vertical circulation vehicles and wet areas are located in this volume. Keeping in mind that this volume is actually a circulation space/void, its spatial quality has been improved by design decisions such as increasing the indirect intake of natural light and providing volumetric continuity of the spaces between the floors. Working spaces overlook the inner garden, and their fa&ccedil;ades were handled in a way that allows the maximum level of natural light away from security concerns.

HAVELSAN Technology Campus

Together with the word oikos and the Greek &quot;nomos&quot; meaning &quot;inheritance&quot;, a word meaning economy is derived, which is a fundamental concept in human relations. The word ecology is also based on the word oikos. The main idea of ​​the project is that this new campus is a home not only for students and academics, but also for plants, animals and all non-human actors that make up the campus ecosystem, and that this new home can establish socio-ecological relations and continuities with the world we live in. In this respect, &quot;continuity&quot; does not only cover structural comfort with a technological instrumentality, as in the common sustainability understanding, but also includes many layers of environmental, social, material, vital, functional, visual and ecological.

Olivelo İzmir Ecological Common Living Area in the Urban Periphery

In addition to having educational functions on the basis of the structure, the building was designed considering its feature of being a military education structure in which the hierarchical system doctrine is an important input. The architectural needs program was separated on the condition of associating the education units and lecturers gathered under the same title in the sections (Sociology, Public Administration, etc.) included in its content with vertical circulation. Flexibility is one of the most important inputs of design. The fragmented typology of the education units was preferred in consideration of possible architectural program changes in the later stages of the process. A building block consisting of lecturer spaces was placed on the segmented education units on the ground level, referring to the hierarchical system. Spatial continuity was ensured by connecting the blocks consisting of educational units and the academic staff block with the atrium in the interior.

Kara Harp Laboratory Center

The design proposal centers the elements of the natural environment, creating a new interface between the craft workshops surrounding the site and the square. The trees that provide shading between this new interface and the meadow both form a new perimeter around the meadow and control access to the meadow together with the bushes.

&nbsp;

Shrubs also contribute to the sorting of rainwater. The importance of cultural landscape in B&uuml;y&uuml;kada; from its floriculture activities to its mansion gardens and exotic herb gardens. Today, a part of the cultural landscape has been preserved with different programs such as natural areas, parks, courtyards and gardens formed by the recreation areas.

However, the lack of landscape character in the coastal area, which constitutes an entrance and meeting area to the island, is remarkable. The commodification and concretization of natural beauties showed itself in B&uuml;y&uuml;kada as a product of uncontrolled tourism and rent mechanisms. Therefore, it should be considered important that this memory place, which creates the first impression about the island, is a reminder of the special geography and natural beauties of the island on a high scale. The entrance area constructed in the İskele Square/Saat Square and the island meadow encountered right after it aims to reflect this identity with its character that does not need care, hosts the endemic plants of the region and creates its own ecosystem together with the creatures living in the environment.

Hacıbektaş Hotel

Tauras Hill dominates the city in terms of its location and elevation. Therefore, the competition area is valuable for cultural and artistic events and social activities in the city. However; The lack of active areas, the idle Trade Center and the height of Tauras Hill have defined obstacles in terms of accessibility, causing the project area to take on an isolated character from the city.

In this architectural design proposal, the axis formed between Lukiskiu Square, Vilnus Municipality and Tauras Hill has formed the main focus of the project. Public spaces are designed on this axis, and an inviting and characteristic concert hall design is proposed at the end of the axis.

Vilnius Ulusal Concert Hall

Three gymnasiums make up almost the entire volume of the building. The form of the building is also shaped by the expression of the ideal operating scheme of these halls. The entrance hall of the building is placed in front of these 3 halls. Hall entrances and grandstand exits are provided through this hall. The exposed concrete surface, which rises up to half of the hall volumes, is used both for the assembly of sports equipment and as a continuous installation gallery on the horizontal that surrounds the building along its 3 sides by thickening. For the part between the roof and this massive surface including the interiors, a continuous glass surface is used in order to benefit from natural light as much as possible. The steel construction roof that sits on top is covered with aluminum panels from the outside and all the installations are designed to be exposed in the interior.

Kara Harp School Defence Sports Center

&lsquo;Parkur&rsquo; has been considered as a continuous space that contains the tools of exploration, entertainment and learning. It has been treated as a venue where the start and the finish merge, where all playgrounds meet with children.

&nbsp;

While Parkur&#39;s movements aim to provide children with spatial experiences, it also creates defined spaces in the outdoors.

Bornova Children’s Explatorium

*mekan-izma (the word mechanism in Turkish, derived from the word &ldquo;place&rdquo;)

When it comes to the &#39;urban&#39;, the state of constant change stands out and program-oriented designs that are in a &#39;certain&#39; - &#39;stable&#39; state lose their validity. Accordingly, a &#39;dynamic&#39; design that can adapt to the environment, to this rapid change, and reproduce itself in the context of meeting the different needs of the city and its inhabitants is aimed. For this purpose, a &ldquo;mekan-izma&rdquo; that does not distance itself from its user, that has the potential to transform according to its purpose and is aimed to be included in daily life at all hours of the day with is proposed.

Ytong Social Activity Center

While P&uuml;r-Zemin transforms the required open space, which is determined in the building criteria of the area, into an urban floor, it also aims to relate to the &ldquo;zemin&rdquo; in the urban environment.

Pendik Our Library and Home İstanbul

Considering the given program, the main challenge in the design is to solve how to construct different functions (housing, office, commerce, school) together. Accordingly, the basic idea in our approach is to produce &#39;courtyards&#39;, the urban space that connects and establishes life in such hybrid space strategies; undertake social, commercial and private uses and while doing these, redefining the relationship between important urban centers.

Folkart Time

As a Republican project, Atat&uuml;rk Cultural Center is one of the important urban symbols that aimed to enable the culture and art understanding of the young state and social values to come to life in the form of productions that have turned into art, and has managed to do so.
